An outstanding defensive catcher, he calls a great game, leads a pitching staff with aplomb, throws very well from behind the plate and has excellent quickness (thanks to an ideal catchers' frame at 5-11, 211 pounds). Can hit for average and make consistent contact, but his lack of power may relegate him to backup status in Major League Baseball. Has trouble driving in runs, too. Lacks a true weapon to make an offensive impact.
