The athletic and lanky right-hander does not bring a lot of raw talent but makes up for it in effort and good mechanics. Bringing a three pitch resume to the major leagues he’s shown no issue racking up the strikeouts. A four-seam fastball hitting 95 m.p.h., which he commands pretty well, sets up his two off-speed pitches that really drives hitters mad. The curveball sitting in the low 80s has enough drop to force hitters into a lot of swing and miss situations and the changeup in the mid to high 80s has become his go-to pitch when needing an out. While his walk rate is a bit high he balances that by limiting hard contact and inducing a lot of groundballs. | |
