The Pirates traded minor-league outfielder Gilberto Celestino to the Cubs, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Celestino agreed to a minor-league deal with the Pirates on Monday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Celestino cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday.

Celestino was designated for assignment Sunday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Celestino was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
