The Guardians optioned Parsons to Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

The Guardians acquired Parsons from the Blue Jays on Wednesday in exchange for international bonus pool money, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

The Blue Jays designated Parsons for assignment Friday.

Manager John Schneider confirmed Wednesday that Parsons will be part of the Blue Jays' Opening Day bullpen, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Parsons walked two and struck out one over three no-hit, scoreless innings of relief during Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins.

Parsons (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the Rays after allowing nine runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out three over four innings.

Parsons' contract was selected from Triple-A Buffalo and he will start Sunday's game against the Rays.

Parsons signed a minor-league contract Wednesday with the Blue Jays.
