The Angels have been decimated by injuries to their pitching staff so far this season, so it makes some sense to add reliever Valdez at this time. He'll provide bullpen depth and should find his way to Los Angeles at some point in 2016.

The Tigers had recently designated Valdez for assignment in order to add veteran reliever Bobby Parnell to the bullpen, so at least Detroit did well to get back some cash for Valdez's services. Incidentally, Parnell has struggled so far in Motown.

Valdez doesn't have much in the way of fantasy value since he was mainly added for depth purposes.
