Hall can be a nasty reliever when on top of his game, so the Diamondbacks are taking a shot here. The hope is Hall will be able to harness his delivery and become a consistent reliever for Arizona. He essentially replaces Matt Stites, who was designated for assignment, on the 40-man roster.

The Giants decided to give up on big right-hander Hall and had designated him for assignment recently, so they took whatever they could get for his services in the end (which wasn't much at all). San Francisco has several other promising bullpen candidates heading into spring training.

Hall has some deep fantasy dark horse appeal but must first crack the improved Diamondbacks' lineup this season. Therefore, he's more of a wait-and-see type at this point.
