Reed is a solid late-inning reliever but hasn't panned out the way many expected when he started his MLB career. Back then he was considered a rising star closer, but over his career Reed has struggled to keep his ERA down. He should provide the Mets with a solid setup option behind closer Jeurys Familia, bolstering a somewhat shaky Mets 'pen overall. Added bonus: if Reed doesn't pan out the Mets can let him walk this winter in free agency.

Diaz and Koch are two solid (if not stellar) prospects who give the D'backs more organizational pitching depth in the minors. Diaz is a starter and Koch is more of a reliever, with Diaz appearing to have better stuff but Koch being more advanced at this point. Reed didn't pan out as a closer for the D'backs this season, so getting something in return for the pending free agent (while saving some money in September) works out well for Arizona.

Even in fantasy leagues counting holds, Reed isn't a strong fantasy pickup the rest of the way (since his ERA is uncommonly high for a late-inning reliever). On the Arizona side of the swap, Diaz may have a little long-term keeper radar appeal, but neither he nor Koch looks ready to be fantasy-worthy anytime soon.
