With the Angels, Nieuwenhuis might get more of an opportunity to play than while he was with the Mets this season. He is an athletic outfielder who could see regular time in left field if he hits early and often.

The Mets had designated Nieuwenhuis for assignment, so they added some cash with this move while providing him more of a chance to play in the bigs this season. He essentially lost his job last year to Juan Lagares.

Nieuwenhuis is still a bit of an intriguing fantasy outfielder but he is quickly losing his shine. He turns 28 later this summer, so it's time for Nieuwenhuis to start producing results. He's a fantasy dark horse at this point.
