This is a solid pickup for the Brewers, who had a crying need at first base. Furthermore, Lind's left-handed bat should help create a little more balance in the batting order. Estrada had already been replaced in the starting rotation during the season, so Milwaukee should have the starting depth to overcome his loss.

The Jays decided to part ways with Lind largely to create a little more room in their internal budget for player acquisitions this winter. Estrada will add some depth to the pitching staff, and serve as rotation insurance for some of their top young hurlers (such as Stroman Aaron Sanchez and Norris

Lind heads to the National League for the first time in his career, so there could be an adjustment period for him. His fantasy value remains more or less the same after the trade, so don't expect a big spike in production in his new setting. Estrada may have some value if he joins Toronto's rotation but he isn't likely to begin 2015 as a starter. He's a dark horse, at best.
