The Blue Jays clearly like Hendriks, since this is the second time they have acquired him in the calendar year. The 25-year-old Australian right-hander can pitch both as a starter and reliever in the big leagues, so he stands a pretty good chance to make Toronto's 25-man roster in 2015. He adds depth to the pitching staff.

In late July, the Royals dealt platoon third baseman Valencia to Toronto for Hendriks and catcher Kratz Now, they moved Hendriks back to the Jays for catching prospect Nessy, who turns 22 in December. Nessy has pretty good potential as a power hitter but he has yet to produce good totals in the minors.

Nessy might be keeper-league radar material but he's still several years away from reaching the big leagues (and now also stuck behind Perez in the Royals organization). As for Hendriks, he's a bit of a dark horse but his fantasy prospects appear better if he lands a quality role in Toronto's bullpen (since he lacks dominant stuff as a starter and is behind several more promising arms in the Jays' system).
