While Duffy has been a starting pitcher for the Royals, he is expected to serve a middle or long relief role with the Dodgers. The veteran soutthpaw is currently dealing with a flexor strain in his arm.

The Royals decided to part with one of their top starters in this deal. They also sent the Dodgers some cash to pay for some of his salary. Duffy is scheduled to become a free agent at season's end.

If some fantasy leaguers were still hanging onto Duffy, this may be the impetus to drop him in some formats. He is injured, will likely move to the bullpen with the Dodgers and should find a new home in free agency this winter. There is too much uncertainty here.
