The Rays will send Ford to Triple-A Durham for the time being, but do not be surprised if he is recalled in short order. He could form a time-sharing tandem with fellow left-handed batter Ji-Man Choi at first base.

The Yankees were able to secure a future asset and some cash in exchange for Ford, after designating him for assignment recently. They were comfortable in sending him to a division rival, too.

There is no fantasy impact here, as Ford will probably be used like most Rays players are used...without everyday playing time. Plus, Ford has to be recalled first and foremost. Pass.
