The Yankees appear to be ready to give Clint Frazier full-time status in 2021, which likely means veteran Brett Gardner will not be re-signed this off-season. Allen could then serve a backup role behind Frazier, center-fielder Aaron Hicks and right-fielder Aaron Judge this year.

The Padres designated Allen for assignment recently, so they did well to get back a future asset in this transaction. Reeves is a journeyman prospect, but his left-handedness and good numbers in the minors give him a chance to become a lefty specialist in MLB.

There is no fantasy upside here, as both Allen and Reeves are role players at the highest level.
