The Giants have a lack of outfield depth throughout the organization, so it makes sense that they decided to take a chance on Basabe, who only turns 24 years old later this month.

The White Sox do not have the same depth issues in the outfield as San Francisco, which explains why they designated Basabe for assignment recently.

Basabe is a player on the keeper radar to monitor moving forward. He should not be picked up yet, especially because of the cancellation of the minor leagues this year.
