The Mets might purchase Hamilton's contract because their current outfield depth is lacking. A quality defensive center-fielder and base stealer, Hamilton has never hit enough in MLB to warrant everyday status.

The Giants get Humphreys, who was recently designated for assignment by the Mets, in exchange for a player who was not even on the roster in Hamilton. The 24-year-old Humphreys has never pitched above Single-A ball.

Hamilton has great stolen base potential but he simply does not hit enough to be under fantasy consideration. He also needs to be added to the Mets' roster before he can get back to the bigs. As for Humphreys, keep an eye on him but do not pick him up yet (in most league formats).
