The Cubs are getting a veteran southpaw who used to be a starter but seems to have made a permanent switch to a bullpen role. He will probably be recalled to Chicago shortly and may provide solid relief from the port side.

The Giants recently designated Holland for assignment, so it is no surprise that they traded him for cash considerations at this time. The 32-year-old Holland was good for San Francisco last season but struggled in 2019.

At some point late in the '19 campaign, Holland could become a fantasy factor if used in the later innings by Chicago. His strikeout ability has appeal but he is not recommendable yet.
