The Giants have desperately tried to find solutions to their outfield woes this season, so Dickerson is simply the latest in a long line of candidates that have come and gone. He will start out in the minors but may move quickly back to MLB for offensively-challenged San Francisco.

The Padres recently designated Dickerson for assignment, so they were at least able to get back an asset. Van Gurp is a 23-year-old right-hander who reached double-A ball earlier in 2019. The reliever is likely a season (or two) away from challenging for a spot in San Diego's bullpen.

There is nothing to see here, as both Dickerson and Van Gurp are long shots to ever make a fantasy impact with their new organizations.
