The 26-year-old Gott struggled last season in 20 big-league appearances, but the Giants hope he can turn his fortunes around with them. He is expected to compete for a bullpen job out of spring training.

The Nationals recently designated Gott for assignment, so they did well to at least get some money back from San Francisco in exchange for his services. The middle reliever needed a fresh start.

There is nothing to see here, as Gott has to first make the Giants out of spring training. Then, he needs to carve out an important role out of the bullpen. Keep an eye on him but do not draft him.
