ANGELS BULLPEN DEPTH WITH CURTISS Tuesday, January 15, 2019
The Los Angeles Angels acquired pitcher John Curtiss from the Minnesota Twins for infielder Daniel Ozoria.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels?
In Curtiss, the Angels acquire an unpolished bullpen arm with pretty good stuff. He throws hard and can strike batters out but has yet to put things together at the big-league level. Look for Curtiss to compete for a reliever job in spring training with LA.
What does it give the Minnesota Twins?
Despite Ozoria's age (he only turns 19 in late August), he is a middling infield prospect at this point. He can play shortstop but really struggles at the plate. Still, he is not a bad acquisition for the Twins, who recently designated Curtiss for assignment.
Fantasy Impact
There is nothing to see here, as Curtiss is not assured of a roster spot for 2019 with the Halos. Take a wait-and-see approach with him. As for Ozoria, he is not likely to ever hit enough to become fantasy-relevant.
