The 29-year-old Scott is a situational left-hander who saw time in MLB with the Red Sox from 2016-18. He will likely serve a role as a situational left-hander with Arizona. He can strike batters out but control remains an issue.

The Reds claimed Scott off waivers from Boston earlier this month, and then decided to deal him for cash. Clearly, Scott was not in their long-range plans so they at least got something for nothing here.

There is no fantasy impact after this trade, as Scott will be used occasionally by Arizona. He is not a major target for saves and his holds will likely be limited, as well.
