Anna is a longtime minor leaguer who brings impressive versatility and a solid bat. He can play pretty much any position on the field other than pitcher or catcher, and he won't hurt his team at the dish if he's needed to swing the lumber. He'll likely spend more time in the minors serving as organizational infield depth.

The White Sox are in the midst of building with youth, so the solid Anna--now aged 31--isn't an ideal fit. Chicago seems determined to see what it has in its youngsters, so they get something in return for the career minor leaguer.

Anna might find himself getting a call-up in the coming season, and if he does he'll almost surely be a utility / backup infielder and outfielder. He's a passable hitter but not a fantasy factor, so he can be ignored in most fantasy formats.
