While the other contenders in the AL East (New York and Boston) continue to go big-game hunting before the trade deadline, the Rays will continue to settle for small, subtle moves. Adding Roe is merely a depth move for Tampa Bay, but it is symbolic of the organization's modus operandi.

The Braves will gladly accept any cash considerations from the Rays here, since journeyman Roe was not in their plans moving forward. Also, he has been injured (strained lat muscle) for much of the 2017 campaign. Therefore, Atlanta did well to merely part ways with Roe at this time.

Roe has very little fantasy value regardless of where he pitches. There is nothing to see here. Move along.
