The Orioles are good at picking up spare pitchers and turning them into big-league contributors, so perhaps Fry will see significant action in MLB at some point in 2017. They did not give up much for the 24-year-old left-hander, either.

The Mariners had designated Fry for assignment recently, so they at least did well to get back a potential prospect from the international ranks in this deal. Seattle has done reasonably well with international signings, which bodes well.

Fry does not have much in the way of fantasy value at the moment, and he is an unlikely candidate to emerge as a setup man or closer in Baltimore anytime soon.
