The New York Knicks acquired guard Derrick Rose from the Detroit Pistons for guard Dennis Smith Jr. and a second-round draft pick in 2021.

The Dallas Mavericks acquired center/forward Kristaps Porzingis, guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. and guards Trey Burke and Courtney Lee from the New York Knicks for guard Dennis Smith Jr., center DeAndre Jordan, guard/forward Wesley Matthews, a first-round draft pick in 2021 and a protected first-round draft pick in 2023.

In a three-team trade, the New York Knicks acquired guard Emmanuel Mudiay from the Denver Nuggets; the Dallas Mavericks acquired forward Doug McDermott from New York, and a second-round draft pick in 2018 from Denver; and the Nuggets acquired guard Devin Harris from Dallas, and a second-round draft pick in 2018 from New York.
