Forecaster Impact
He is not retiring and left open the door to returning in 2015-16, but for the rest of this season, Allen will not be making any impact in the fantasy world.

Ray Allen will likely wait until January or even the All-Star Break to sign with a team according to NBC Sports.

Forecaster Impact
It sounds like Allen is pulling a Roger Clemens, waiting until halfway through the season to see which teams are ready to make a playoff run and where he would fit the best. That's great for Allen, but it makes him fantasy irrelevant.

Mike Miller recruiting Ray Allen for Cavs
Miami Herald
News
Mike Miller has been recruiting Ray Allen to join him and LeBron James in Cleveland.
Forecaster Impact
"With LeBron James, you are going to win 55 to 60 games regardless," Miller said. "Now it's about what you do in the playoffs. For us, even with the young talent that they have there, you've got to bring guys that have been there before, even if they are not giving you heavy minutes. Because those are the guys that understand the preparation, the adjustments, things like that can really bring those guys along. And then you build it from there." Allen is contemplating retirement, but the ageless veteran could still contribute to an NBA team with his clutch shot making and picture perfect jumper. Stay tuned.

Ray Allen talking with the Cavaliers, Rockets
Sun-Sentinel
News
Unrestricted free agent Ray Allen is talking with the Cavaliers and Rockets while continuing to contemplate retirement.
Forecaster Impact
Allen is still undecided whether he wants to return for another NBA season, or retire after 18 years in the NBA. He has reportedly been in talks with both the Rockets and Cavaliers, but is yet to speak with his former team. "We knew that he wanted to take some time and be patient to see where he is," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "We'll see what happens." Whether he chooses to play next season or retire, Allen will go down as the greatest three-point shooter in the history of the NBA.

Report: Ray Allen contemplating retirement
Marc J. Spears on Twitter
News
Unrestricted free agent Ray Allen is reportedly contemplating retirement.
Forecaster Impact
Allen is in no rush to select his next team, as he's not sure whether he wants to play, or call it quits on his career. Allen is the NBA's all-time leader in 3-point makes with 2973, and over 19-years of professional play Allen has shot 40.0 percent from beyond the arc. Needless to say, if Mr. Allen chooses to retire, the NBA will be losing one of the best shooters to ever play the game.

Report: Cavaliers pursuing FA Ray Allen
Chris Broussard on Twitter
News
The Cavaliers are reportedly pursuing free agent Ray Allen.
Forecaster Impact
This is a transparent move to lure LeBron James back to Cleveland, as Allen has said that he'd like to continue his career alongside LBJ. It's doubtful Allen will make any decisions before LeBron, but Cleveland has nothing to lose by expressing interest in Allen (and leaking it to the media). If the Cavs fail to land LeBron, they're expected to pursue Trevor Ariza and other free agents with their copious salary-cap space.

Ray Allen 'leaning toward' another NBA season
ESPN.com
News
Ray Allen is "leaning toward" returning for his 19th NBA season, and he reportedly wishes to continue playing alongside LeBron James.
Forecaster Impact
Tethering yourself to LeBron is a great way to ensure you'll play for a championship contender, and Allen even went on vacation with LBJ last week following their Finals defeat. Allen will be 39 years old when the 2014-15 season begins, but he's proven over the past two season that he can still be a key contributor on a winning team.
