Claver signed a three-year contract Wednesday with FC Barcelona of Spain, Euroleague.net reports.
Victor Claver said he doesn't plan on seeking a buyout from the Blazers.
"I have one more year on my contract and I want to play one more year," Claver said. He played a total of seven minutes in the playoffs -- all garbage time -- and rarely finds himself in the rotation while the Blazers are healthy. If he wants playing time at the NBA level, the Blazers probably aren't the best place for him.
Terry Stotts said that he'll likely place Victor Claver and Allen Crabbe on the inactive list for Sunday's game vs. the Rockets.
Even if these guys were in uniform, it's highly unlikely either would step on the court. These are simply emergency depth guys and they're not the type of players that have an impact on games.
Victor Claver came off the bench for 13 points, five rebounds and a 3-pointer on 5-of-7 shooting in 22 minutes on Wednesday.
Claver was playing heavy minutes tonight for several reasons, including the absence of LaMarcus Aldridge and Thomas Jones, along with the fact the Blazers won 124-80 over a terrible Nets' team. We hadn't blurbed Claver since 2013 and there's a reason for it.
Blazers forward Victor Claver said that he'll consider returning to Europe if he's not earning playing time once his current NBA contract expires.
"I want to feel like I'm part of a team and that I can help the team win. For the moment, this season, I'm not doing it," Claver said. "If I'm still not playing [couple years from now], I will have to think of other options because I'm not going to be on the bench. I'm not a coach. I want to play. That's what everybody wants to do." He has yet to attempt a field goal this season, as he's buried on Terry Stotts' bench.
Victor Claver will play on Tuesday after missing Sunday's game with a right quad contusion.
Obviously, he should be fine for the start of the real season, but he's going to struggle to see enough minutes to offer fantasy value. Ignore him on draft day.
Victor Claver will not play on Sunday due to a right quad contusion.
He suffered it on Saturday night and did not return to the game. Claver said that he's feeling better, but he's not quite ready. The Blazers added a little more depth during free agency and the draft, so Claver will have an even tougher time getting consistent minutes during the regular season.
Victor Claver has not returned to Saturday's game after apparently injuring his right knee.
He hurt himself in the first quarter and was checked out by team trainers on the bench, but he didn't leave the locker room after halftime. We should know more about his health before long, but hopefully the Blazers are just being extra cautious with their second-year forward.
Victor Claver (ankle) scored three points with two boards, one assist and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes against the Thunder on Friday.
He's going to start for Nicolas Batum, but Claver has yet to really make an impact for the Blazers in his rookie season. His upside is too low to be considered as a asset in most fantasy leagues.
Victor Claver suffered a sprained left ankle in the second half of Wednesday's game and went to the locker room.
He rolled his ankle in transition and hobbled back to the locker room after calling for a sub. He was playing well with nine points, but now the Blazers will likely go with a combination of Sasha Pavlovic and Luke Babbitt to replace him.
