The Pistons have a solid young roster but not many grizzled vets, and Blake can provide that needed savvy leadership. Blake is a longtime pro who can run an offense when needed, and he should provide solid insurance and mentorship behind young guards Brandon Jennings and Reggie Jackson. Then again, this Detroit squad now has three point guards who can potentially start, so team boss Stan Van Gundy will need to manage minutes (and egos) carefully.

The Nets have been in teardown mode with much of their roster this summer, and shipping Blake off to Detroit is just another part of that. While Miller is far from as established as Blake, he's a still-promising young swingman who can play a role in what's looking like an up-tempo Brooklyn roster. All that said, it's a bit surprising Blake wasn't retained after Deron Williams was bought out (although the Nets do save a bit of salary with the move).

Blake should provide his usual solid backup point guard stats for Detroit, but it won't likely make him fantasy-worthy (or much affect the values of Reggie Jackson or Brandon Jennings). Meanwhile in Brooklyn, with Blake and Deron Williams gone it will be a shocker if vet Jarrett Jack doesn't take over at the point for the Nets. The move should give him underrated and very solid fantasy value in most leagues, and it makes him worth a later-round pick in most fantasy formats. Miller is a talented swingman but has yet to show much so far in the NBA (so should be ignored in fantasy until he does).
