What does it give the Houston Rockets?
The Rockets are rebuilding at this time, but they still need some veteran presence and leadership on the team. Theis should provide just that, plus he will likely back up starting center Christian Wood in Houston.

What does it give the Chicago Bulls?
The Bulls needed to dump salary because of the acquisitions of both Lonzo Ball from New Orleans and DeMar DeRozan from San Antonio. So, Theis was sacrificed in a deal for cash.

Fantasy Impact
Theis will not provide much in terms of fantasy basketball in 2021-22, so he can be safely ignored in most league formats.
