DEDMON DEALT BACK TO ATLANTA Thursday, February 6, 2020
The Atlanta Hawks acquired center Dewayne Dedmon, a second-round draft pick in 2020 and a second-round draft pick in 2021 from the Sacramento Kings for forward Jabari Parker and center Alex Len.
What does it give the Atlanta Hawks?
The Hawks are reacquiring Dedmon, who spent 2017-18 and 2018-19 in Atlanta. This time however, he is expected to serve a backup role behind newly-acquired center Clint Capela. Dedmon has an expensive contract, which is why the Hawks are also receiving two second-round draft picks to complete this trade.
What does it give the Sacramento Kings?
For Sacramento, getting out from under Dedmon's deal is the lone source of motivation here. The cost was two contracts and two draft picks, which is not bad considering that Dedmon was not even starting for the Kings this season. Both Parker and Len are currently injured but may add depth when healthy.
Fantasy Impact
Dedmon may have a more defined role in Atlanta but his stock remains low behind Capela. Neither Parker nor Len hold much fantasy promise either, despite being moved.
