CLIPS ADD ANOTHER 2ND-ROUND PICK, ADD PG J. EVANS Thursday, July 6, 2017
The Los Angeles Clippers acquired a 2nd-round draft pick in 2017 (No. 39 overall, point guard Jawun Evans) from the Philadelphia 76ers for cash.
What does it give the Los Angeles Clippers?
Evans is a very capable and polished point guard; so even if the Clips re-sign superstar Chris Paul, Evans should provide quality minutes in the coming campaign. Evans will obviously play a bigger role if Paul leaves via free agency, but this is a nice depth addition regardless.
What does it give the Philadelphia 76ers?
The Sixers are already teeming with young talent and loaded with draft pick resources for the future, so getting some cash here--to help pay for all that incoming talent--makes a lot of sense.
Fantasy Impact
Evans is a super-quick and talented young point guard, but even if he finds backup minutes next season he won't likely be a fantasy factor anytime soon. Then again, he does have the polished game needed to produce if he gets chances, so consider him a deep sleeper for Year 1.
