CLIPS GET PICK FROM BUCKS, SELECT THORNWELL Thursday, June 22, 2017
The Los Angeles Clippers acquired a 2nd-round draft pick in 2017 (No. 48 overall, swingman Sindarius Thornwell) from the Milwaukee Bucks for cash.
What does it give the Milwaukee Bucks?
This year's draft has been a tough one for new GM Jon Horst, and Thornwell has the goods to be somewhat of a 'one who got away' player (if not a star). The Bucks still need more backcourt depth, but apparently they decided they couldn't get what they want at No. 48 overall.
What does it give the Los Angeles Clippers?
This is a very nice move by the Clips. While L.A. faces a lot of tough choices this off-season, adding a proven, versatile, NBA-ready player in Thornwell should help at least provide some solid insurance in case they lose any star power to free agency. He should help out in Year 1 regardless of the roster's makeup.
Fantasy Impact
Thornwell should play fairly regularly in Year 1, so he should be seen as a deep sleeper for fantasy purposes. That said, don't expect stellar production (since he's more of a role player).
