Oklahoma City Thunder Western Northwest
Trade Details
THUNDER HEISTS HAMILTON Thursday, June 23, 2016
The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired the rights to guard / forward Daniel Hamiltion from the Denver Nuggets for cash considerations.
What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder?
A bit of a steal here for the Thunder? Hamilton wasn't seen by many as one of the top prospects in this year's draft and he has some definite holes in his game, but he's also one of the more underrated talents in this year's class. Hamilton has some point forward potential and a fairly unique skill-set, so this is a nice risk for an OKC organization known for drafting well.
What does it give the Denver Nuggets?
With likely already too many young prospects to keep on the active roster, Denver gets some cash here for a late second-round draft pick they probably didn't have room for. They may one day regret passing up on Hamilton, but roster space is tight with the Nuggets.
Fantasy Impact
Even if Kevin Durant leaves the Thunder this off-season the team is still well-stocked with talent, so Hamilton will probably spend some time in the D-League this coming season (whether or not he signs with OKC this year). Ergo, don't consider him for 2016-17 fantasy.
