Chicago Bulls Eastern Central

'TLC' TRADED TO THE BULLS Friday, February 1, 2019
The Chicago Bulls acquired forward/guard Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and cash considerations from the Oklahoma City Thunder for a protected second-round draft pick in 2020.
What does it give the Chicago Bulls?
The Bulls have plenty of work to do in terms of getting back to contender status in the Eastern Conference of the NBA. Therefore, taking fliers on players such as Luwawu-Cabarrot make sense. Still only 23 years old, the Frenchman known as 'TLC' should see more playing time in Chicago than he was getting with the Thunder. He might even become a starter over time.
What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder?
The Thunder are deeper than expected this season, with a few players emerging as rotation regulars such as Abdel Nader and Hamidou Diallo. Therefore, Luwawu-Cabarrot became expendable. So, Oklahoma City moved him and threw in some cash in the deal in order to secure another second-round draft pick. This deal works for all parties concerned.
Fantasy Impact
Luwawu-Cabarrot may receive a new lease on life in the NBA with Chicago, but that does not mean he is instantly recommendable as a fantasy pickup. It would be wise to take a wait-and-see approach here, instead. Let's see how the Bulls intend to utilize him before making any type of commitment.
