WIZ MOVES MAC TO HAWKS Thursday, February 8, 2018
The Atlanta Hawks acquired guard Sheldon Mac and cash from the Washington Wizards for a protected second-round draft pick in 2019.
What does it give the Atlanta Hawks?
Mac--who has been out all season with an Achilles injury--has already been waived by the Hawks, so for Atlanta this deal is all about the cash. They get those funds in return for helping playoff-contending Washington open up a roster space to add someone for the stretch run.
What does it give the Washington Wizards?
Mac wasn't going to help the Wizards with their playoff push (as mentioned, he's been sidelined all season) so this move helps open up his roster spot for a player who can. Expect the Wiz to sign a veteran sometime soon.
Fantasy Impact
Mac wasn't playing for the Wizards and he won't be playing for the Hawks, so there's no fantasy impact here.
