Anderson lasted 24 days with the Bears after being cut by the Bengals in mid-July. The 27-year-old former No. 8 overall pick has just 7.5 career sacks through 77 games, and he may not be fully recovered from the torn quadriceps that ended his 2012 season. Anderson is just a rotational run defender.

Bengals released DE Jamaal Anderson.
The move saves $2.5 million in cap space. The Falcons' 2007 first-round pick (No. 8 overall), Anderson appeared in only two games last season before tearing his quad. A rotational end the past three seasons after flaming out as a starter, Anderson has played just 918 snaps since 2010. A better run defender than pass rusher, Anderson should be able to latch on somewhere as a camp body, but will be far from a guarantee for a roster spot.
