The Broncos have suffered countless injuries to their linebacker corps in recent weeks, so help from the outside was required. Weatherly played 4-3 defensive end in Minnesota, so there may be an adjustment period as he transitions to 3-4 outside 'backer.

Minnesota decided to move on from Weatherly, despite the fact he started nine games for the Panthers last season (and seven starts for Minnesota in previous years). The Vikings did not get back much, so they obviously feel comfortable with their D-line.

Weatherly could be a source of sacks if he gets extended playing time with Denver. However, he will revert to the bench once Von Miller and Bradley Chubb are healthy. There should be better options in most IDP leagues at this time.
