What does it give the Green Bay Packers?
The Packers needed added depth at inside linebacker, especially with Oren Burks currently injured, so they did a small deal to bring in Goodson (a decent starter for the Giants in both 2017 and 2018). He is not a difference maker.

What does it give the New York Giants?
It seems Goodson lost his job with the Giants on the inside to second-year man Tae Davis during training camp. So, the Giants made this deal with Green Bay to assure themselves the better seventh-rounder between the two teams.

Fantasy Impact
Goodson has no fantasy value because he is only going to accumulate tackles for Green Bay (but is expected to go back to the bench when Burks is healthy). Do not pick up Goodson in IDP leagues.
