SEAHAWKS SWAP FOR MORE O-LINE DEPTH, ADD BATTLE Saturday, September 2, 2017
The Seattle Seahawks acquired offensive lineman Isaiah Battle from the Kansas City Chiefs for a conditional 7th-round draft pick in 2018.
What does it give the Seattle Seahawks?
Battle is still a bit of a project on the offensive line, but the Seahawks clearly like him enough to open up a spot on their roster. He has a huge frame, and should provide intriguing depth at the tackle spots for his new squad. That said, he's highly inexperienced so it will be surprising if he earns a regular rotational role anytime soon.
What does it give the Kansas City Chiefs?
Like every other NFL team, Kansas City is trying to get down to its best 53 players to start the season. It seems the raw Battle wasn't in the running, so the Chiefs do a nice job here of getting a draft pick for a player who wasn't in their plans.
Fantasy Impact
Battle has fantastic raw size and has worked to improve the past couple seasons, but for now he projects as just a depth tackle. That means he's unlikely to effect much change for his new Seahawks teammates fantasy-wise this season.
