Free agent WR Devin Aromashodu worked out for the Lions.
Aromashodu was cut by the Bears earlier this week. Aromashodu still has some deep speed, but caught just 11 passes in 15 games for the Vikings last season. If he signs with the Lions, it will likely be after Week 1.
Bears released WR Devin Aromashodu, TE Leonard Pope, DT Eric Foster, RB Curtis Brinkley, S Derrick Martin, TE Gabe Miller, LB Patrick Trahan, DT Brent Russell, P Tress Way, OT A.J. Lindeman, C P.J. Lonergan, and LB Lawrence Wilson.
They previously cut S Tom Zbikowski and DE Kyle Moore. Chicago is down to 76 players and must make one more roster move ahead of Tuesday's deadline.
Bears signed WRs Devin Aromashodu and Jerrell Jackson.
Bears fans will recall Aromashodu from his three seasons (2008-2010) in Chicago, where he sometimes flashed vertical tools but never developed into a consistent offensive contributor. He's 29 years old now, and coming off an 11-catch season with Minnesota. Jackson is a former UDFA out of Missouri.
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune expects the Vikings to move on from free agent Devin Aromashodu.
Aromashodu remained startlingly ineffective in 2012, catching just 11 passes for 182 yards. The Vikings need an overhaul at receiver, and the soon-to-be 29-year-old Aromashodu is part of the problem, not the solution.
