| An intense competitor and playmaker, he was also a leader on defense. Had great range and made plays all over the field. Improved his ability to read plays over time, displayed occasional pass-rushing ability and also improved his skills in pass coverage later in his career. Gritty and tough, he played through pain. Had an early history of significant knee problems, but he overcame them and wound up lasting a long time in the National Football League. Was a tad undersized, overall. Sometimes, he could be accused of running around tackles, instead of through them. Later on in his NFL career, most of his explosive, all-around playmaking ability was no longer present. | |
