Grubbs was released by the Chiefs on Thursday, Evan Woodbery of The Times-Picayune reports.

Saints LG Ben Grubbs has restructured his contract, slashing his base salary from $5.2 million to $1.2 million. Like teammate Marques Colston, Grubbs' missing $4 million should be turned into a signing bonus that's pro-rated over the final four years of his deal. That would save the Saints $3 million in cap space this season.
