Cardinals coach Bruce Arians confirmed John Abraham (groin) will play in Week 17 against San Francisco.
Forecaster Impact
The Cardinals must win Sunday's game to keep their playoff hopes alive. Arians told reporters Friday that Abraham "is fine" and "on track" to play his normal role. After a slow start, Abraham has come on very strong in Arizona, registering 11.5 sacks -- his most since the 2010 season in Atlanta.

John Abraham considered game-time call
Darren Urban on Twitter
News
Cardinals OLB John Abraham (groin) is considered a game-time decision for Week 17.
Forecaster Impact
The Cardinals need all hands on deck as they attempt to beat the 49ers and keep their slim playoff hopes alive, so even if he's on a snap count, we'd expect Abraham to be active. The 35-year-old veteran is in the midst of a fine season, entering Week 17 with 11.5 sacks. He's graded out as the No. 17 3-4 outside linebacker in Pro Football Focus' ratings.

Report: John Abraham has offer from Cardinals
Jason La Canfora on Twitter
News
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Cardinals have an offer on the table to free agent DE/OLB John Abraham.
Forecaster Impact
Abraham, 35, visited the team on Wednesday. Arguably the top free agent available on the open market, he'd immediately become the Cardinals' top edge rusher if signed. Abraham has never played outside 'backer in a 3-4 defense, but the Falcons moved him around and stood him up on multiple occasions over the last couple of seasons. He'd be a huge upgrade on both Sam Acho and Lorenzo Alexander.

Report: John Abraham is visiting Cardinals
Mike Jurecki on Twitter
News
According to XTRA 910 Phoenix, free agent DE/OLB John Abraham is visiting the Cardinals Wednesday.
Forecaster Impact
Abraham remains on the street because of playing time and salary demands. With training camp here, perhaps he's willing to come back to reality. At age 35, Abraham could play a situational pass-rushing role for the Cardinals, shifting to outside linebacker for the first time in his career to accommodate their 3-4. Projected starting OLBs Sam Acho and Lorenzo Alexander combined for just 6.5 sacks last year. Abraham posted 10 by himself.

Dimitroff says Abraham reunion is unlikely
Atlanta Journal-Constitution
News
Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff recently hinted that bringing back free agent DE John Abraham is extremely unlikely.
Forecaster Impact
The Falcons cut Abraham and his $4.25 million base salary in March. They proceeded to replace him with Osi Umenyiora on a two-year, $8.5 million deal. The 35-year-old Abraham is still on the open market, but it's unclear if he's willing to accept a reduced role for limited pay on the team that shunned him. Before the Falcons make any veteran additions, they need to get Matt Ryan's contract extension done.
