To say he is a fundamentally sound linebacker is an understatement (going from Nick Saban's program at the University of Alabama to Bill Belichick's New England Patriots in the NFL is an ideal developmental path for any aspiring football player). He has good size for a 'backer and the ability to keep up with tight ends in pass coverage. Is more of a complementary defender, as he lacks big-play acumen in either run defense or when rushing the passer.
