Lions head coach Dan Campbell said the team has interest in signing Gurley, via Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Gurley is scheduled to visit the Lions on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Gurley said in regard to Arthur Smith becoming the Falcons' new head coach, "You get excited about a coach that runs the ball, which you know doesn't happen very often," Kelsey Conway of the Falcons' official site reports.

Gurley ran for 18 yards on nine attempts while securing his only target for a 17-yard gain during Sunday's 44-27 loss to Tampa Bay.

Gurley registered 16 yards on four carries while securing all three of his targets for 34 yards during Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Chiefs.

Interim coach Raheem Morris said Monday that Gurley's role has changed and Ito Smith has usurped him as the Falcons' lead runner, Kelsey Conway of the Falcons' official site reports.

Gurley lost a yard on his lone carry, adding two catches for 15 yards during Sunday's 31-27 loss to Tampa Bay.

Gurley collected 19 yards on six carries, adding two catches for 12 yards during Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Chargers.

Gurley (knee) doesn't have a designation on the final injury report for Sunday's game against the Chargers, William McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.

Coach Raheem Morris said Gurley (knee) "feels a lot more healthy this week" and should work in his normal role Sunday against the Chargers
