| An experienced and natural receiver, he was most comfortable out of the slot. Could range over the middle and extend his arms for the ball; he was deceptively fluid in space for his size. He could also lower his shoulder and punish defenders to max out gains. An instinctive runner, he followed his blockers well and accelerated after the catch. After struggling early on in his NFL career as a blocker, he greatly improved in that area and became more of a blocking tight end towards the latter part of his career. Was prone to unforced drops at times when he could not turn and stop. His production was eventually curtailed due to frequent injuries. | |
