Primarily a special teams stalwart, he was also capable in deep pass coverage as a safety or nickelback. Used his primary assets of speed and all-around athleticism to track receivers and make plays in coverage; he was heady and instinctive with the ability to anticipate and create the occasional turnover. His size was an asset in run support, although he was most often deployed on passing downs. A lack of steady defensive snaps naturally limited his tackle counts, though versatility was always his meal ticket.
