A very efficient blocker in pass-protection schemes, he was both massive and physical in his prime. Had good athleticism for a man of his stature. Could take the pounding in heavy traffic and displayed nice hands. Over time, he became a very productive receiver in the NFL. Was also a fairly durable tight end throughout his career.
