Aguayo connected on the game-winning field goal during Thursday's 23-21 preseason win over the 49ers. He also made his other 36-yard field-goal attempt earlier in the contest.

Aguayo did not see any kicking opportunities in the Chargers' preseason loss to the Saints on Saturday.

Aguayo is "on his way to winning the Chargers' kicking job," according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Aguayo was successful on a 39-yard field-goal attempt and also converted all three of his extra-point tries in the Chargers' 24-14 preseason win over the Seahawks on Saturday.

Aguayo was cut from the Panthers' practice squad Tuesday, Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer reports.
