Was a feisty battler for each play. Had a high motor and was instinctive, with a supremely physical game (especially considering his size). Used his hands constantly to make life hard on receivers throughout their routes and showed great anticipation to break up passes, make tackles and create interceptions. Lacked size and speed in a major way for an NFL defensive back. Could get outmuscled by bigger receivers and outrun by faster ones. Relied heavily on his aggressiveness when reading plays, but sometimes he guessed incorrectly and paid for it.
