SEAHAWKS GET A SLEEPER CB IN SEISAY Sunday, August 2, 2015
The Seattle Seahawks acquired cornerback Mohammed Seisay from the Detroit Lions for a sixth-round draft pick in 2016.
What does it give the Seattle Seahawks?
Injuries likely led to this move by Seattle, and Seisay is exactly the type of cornerback they tend to covet: well-sized, athletic, with good length, and underrated. While Seisay probably won't be a regular rotation guy anytime soon, he'll be a very solid development prospect who can help out on special teams right away.
What does it give the Detroit Lions?
The Lions have a glut of quality cornerbacks so moving Seisay clarifies things a little for them while providing another pick for next year's draft. Seisay showed some promise while in Detroit, but the Lions' corner corps is already deep.
Fantasy Impact
While Seisay is a definite sleeper for down the road, he has little to no fantasy upside for the coming campaign (even in fantasy leagues featuring Individual Defensive Players).
